Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday visited the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) production facility in Bengaluru, Karnataka, ahead of the much-anticipated Aero India 2025, which is set to take place from February 10 to February 14.
Upon his arrival at HAL Airport, Singh toured the Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Mk1A production facility, where the advanced Tejas Mk1A is being manufactured. The Tejas Mk1A is an upgraded version of the LCA Mk1, designed to enhance combat capabilities.
“Landed at the HAL Airport, Bengaluru for Aero India 2025. Visited the state-of-the-art LCA Mk1A production facility of HAL. Mk1A is an advanced version of LCA Mk1 with many advanced features,” the Defence Minister posted on X.
The Tejas Mk1A is a multi-role fighter aircraft, capable of carrying out offensive air support, close combat, and ground attack missions with precision. Singh hailed the Tejas Mk1A as a national pride, emphasizing its role as the backbone of the Indian Air Force for the coming decades.
“The LCA is a multi-role aircraft capable of taking up offensive air support, close combat, and ground attack roles with ease. Tejas Mk1A is the pride of the nation that will serve as the backbone of the Indian Air Force for decades to come,” he added.
Aero India 2025: A Landmark Aerospace Exhibition
The 15th edition of Aero India, Asia’s premier aerospace and defence exhibition, is set to be a spectacular showcase of the latest advancements in aerospace technology. The event will take place at the Yelahanka Air Force Station, Bengaluru, and will feature cutting-edge innovations in defence technology.
According to the Ministry of Defence, the first three days of the event will be dedicated to business visitors, while the last two days will be open to the general public.
One of the highlights of Aero India 2025 is the Combat Air Teaming System (CATS) Warrior, a full-scale engineering demonstrator on display at the India Pavilion. The CATS Warrior is a next-generation system designed to enhance the combat capabilities of the Indian Air Force.
The Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) will be at the center stage of Aero India 2025, showcasing its indigenous aerospace products and cutting-edge technologies at the India Pavilion. Among the key attractions of HAL’s exhibit are the Light Utility Helicopter (LUH) and the CATS Warrior, both of which highlight India’s push for self-reliance in defence manufacturing.
With preparations in full swing, Aero India 2025 is set to be a landmark event, reinforcing India’s growing influence in the global aerospace and defence industry.
