Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], May 11: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday lauded the success of Operation Sindoor, declaring it a powerful display of India’s military capability and its unwavering stance against terrorism. The operation, launched in response to the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, targeted multiple terror sites inside Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
Speaking at the virtual inauguration of the BrahMos Aerospace Integration and Testing Facility in Lucknow, Singh said, “Operation Sindoor is not just a military response—it is a reflection of India’s political resolve, military strength, and zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism.”
Singh commended the Indian armed forces for delivering a decisive blow to anti-India elements operating from across the border. “Those who brought devastation to Indian families through terror attacks have now been brought to justice. The entire nation salutes the courage of our soldiers,” he said.
He emphasized that India’s actions under Operation Sindoor extended well beyond the border. “The echoes of our military action were heard all the way to Rawalpindi, the headquarters of the Pakistani Army. We struck deep inside to dismantle terror infrastructure, avoiding harm to civilians but targeting the core of terrorism,” Singh stated.
Recalling previous military responses, he drew parallels with the surgical strikes after the Uri attack and the Balakot airstrikes post-Pulwama. “India has demonstrated time and again that terror will not go unanswered. After Pahalgam, we once again sent a clear message,” Singh asserted.
He also criticized Pakistan for targeting civilian areas and religious places in India. “Unlike them, our forces acted with both courage and restraint. This is the difference between India and Pakistan—our strength lies in our values,” he added.
Singh underscored Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, saying that the PM has ushered in a “New India” that does not hesitate to respond with strength. “Under this leadership, India has made it clear—terrorism will be crushed, whether within our territory or across the border,” he said.
India launched Operation Sindoor on May 7, striking nine terror sites in retaliation for the Pahalgam attack that killed 26 people. In response, Pakistan engaged in unprovoked escalation using artillery and drones, further heightening tensions along the border.
