As the Modi government marks 11 years in power, Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday attributed India’s rise to one of the world’s top five economies to the self-reliant defence ecosystem, born from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Atmanirbhar Bharat vision.
Taking to social media platform X, Singh praised the transformative journey of the past decade, emphasizing that India today stands confident, well-equipped, and determined to protect its sovereignty.
“Inspired by PM @narendramodi’s vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat, the defence sector has moved firmly towards self-reliance. India now proudly stands among the top five global economies,” Singh posted, adding,
“These #11YearsOfSeva have fulfilled the dreams of our freedom fighters and Constitution makers.”
PM Modi Reflects on Transformation Across Sectors
Echoing the sentiment, Prime Minister Modi also shared his thoughts on X, underlining the government’s focus on good governance, people-centric development, and transformation:
“Powered by the participation of 140 crore Indians, India has seen rapid transformation across diverse sectors,” he posted.
“India today is not only the fastest-growing major economy, but also a key voice on climate action and digital innovation.”
The PM reaffirmed his goal of building a Viksit Bharat, a developed India, grounded in the principle of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas.”
E-book Released Marking #11YearsOfSeva
To commemorate the milestone, the government released a comprehensive e-book showcasing its achievements across 14 key sectors including defence, economy, health, environment, foreign policy, infrastructure, and digital governance.
Highlights from the e-book:
- COVID-19 Response: Full vaccination of the eligible population in record time.
- Digital Governance: JAM Trinity (Jan Dhan, Aadhaar, Mobile) enabled direct benefit transfers and public service delivery at scale.
- Defence Reforms: Indigenous manufacturing and increased exports have made India more self-reliant.
- Infrastructure & Water Access: Record rural electrification, improved drinking water availability.
- Global Leadership: India’s proactive climate leadership and the establishment of International Yoga Day.
- Operation Sindoor: Symbol of a decisive and sovereign India acting swiftly in international rescue operations.
Singh and Modi Applaud People’s Role in India’s Growth Story
Both leaders expressed gratitude to the citizens of India for their trust and contribution in transforming India’s trajectory.
“I congratulate every Indian who has been a part of this journey. Together, we move forward—stronger, prouder, and united,” Singh wrote.
