New Delhi (India): In the aftermath of Operation Sindoor, Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh spoke to the chiefs of the Indian Army, Indian Air Force, and Indian Navy to review the situation, sources confirmed. This communication follows the Indian Armed Forces’ successful operation which targeted terrorist hideouts across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK) late Wednesday night.
According to sources, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) will hold a press briefing on Operation Sindoor at 10:00 AM on Wednesday to provide further details about the strikes.
India’s deepest incursion into Pakistan’s undisputed territory since the 1971 Indo-Pakistani War was described by CNN as the most significant military action within Pakistani borders in over five decades. The operation targeted terror camps linked to Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), including leaders believed to be responsible for orchestrating attacks in India.
The Ministry of Defence released a statement that said:
“A little while ago, the Indian Armed Forces launched ‘OPERATION SINDOOR’, hitting terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir from where terrorist attacks against India have been planned and directed.”
The statement emphasized that the strikes were focused, measured, and non-escalatory:
“Our actions have been focused, measured and non-escalatory in nature. No Pakistani military facilities have been targeted. India has demonstrated considerable restraint in selection of targets and method of execution,” the MoD said.
Indian Armed Forces successfully struck nine terror targets, including four in Pakistan—Bahawalpur, Muridke, and Sialkot—and five in PoJK, using precision munitions in a coordinated operation involving the Army, Navy, and Air Force. The operation was closely monitored by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, sources revealed.
The strikes were part of India’s efforts to avenge the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack and to dismantle the infrastructure of terrorist organizations operating across the border. Sources confirmed that the Indian forces targeted high-ranking Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) leaders who have been directly involved in sponsoring and executing attacks in India.
