New Delhi [India], July 13: The second single from Rajinikanth’s highly anticipated film Coolie, titled Monica, has been released and is already making waves. The song features energetic performances from lead actress Pooja Hegde and a surprise dancing cameo by Malayalam actor-director Soubin Shahir.
Directed by Jailer filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj, Coolie is set to hit theatres worldwide on August 14, 2025. The film is backed by Sun Pictures.
Monica is composed by Anirudh Ravichander and sung by Sublahshini, Anirudh himself, with a rap segment by Asal Kolaar. The lyrics are penned by Vishnu Edavan. Choreographer Sandy Master adds a vibrant touch to the dance moves in the lyrical video.
Pooja Hegde impresses with her energetic performance, but it’s Soubin Shahir’s surprising dance appearance that has caught the internet’s attention. Known for acclaimed roles in Premam and Manjummel Boys, Shahir matches steps with Hegde in a formal outfit, bringing an unexpected charm to the number.
The first song from the film, Chikitu, also composed by Anirudh, was released earlier and featured vocals by T Rajhendherr, Anirudh, and Arivu. That track highlighted Rajinikanth’s signature swag, showcasing the superstar in full mass appeal mode.
Both singles give a peek into the musical and visual tone of Coolie, which promises a mix of action, style, and dance, with Rajinikanth at the center.
In addition to Coolie, Rajinikanth fans can also look forward to Jailer 2, which was recently announced with a special Makar Sankranti promo featuring director Nelson Dilipkumar and music composer Anirudh Ravichander.
