New Delhi [India], June 26: The wait for Rajinikanth’s upcoming film ‘Coolie’ just got more electrifying with the release of its first song ‘Chikitu’, a high-energy, street-style number featuring the superstar’s trademark swagger and quirky dance moves.
Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, marking his first collaboration with Rajinikanth, ‘Coolie’ is already generating massive buzz. The song ‘Chikitu’ is composed by Anirudh Ravichander, and sung by T Rajhendherr, Anirudh, and Arivu, delivering a raw and rhythmic Tamil folk feel.
The music video showcases Anirudh performing live with a mic in hand, backed by energetic dancers and vibrant choreography led by Sandy Master. True to his persona, Rajinikanth steals the spotlight with his coolie attire and effortlessly charismatic moves, reminding fans of his unmatched on-screen presence.
Lyricist and rapper Arivu brings local flavor and lyrical fire to the track, while the song’s soundscape—driven by beat-master T Rajhendherr—stays rooted in grassroots Tamil culture.
Sun Pictures, the film’s production house, released the music video on its official X handle, amping up excitement among fans.
‘Coolie’ also stars a powerful ensemble including Upendra, Akkineni Nagarjuna, Soubin Shahir, Sathyaraj, and Shruti Haasan, making it one of the most anticipated films of the year.
Meanwhile, Rajinikanth is also set to return in ‘Jailer 2’, a sequel to the 2023 blockbuster. Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, with music again by Anirudh Ravichander, the sequel was officially announced on Makar Sankranti with a special promo.
