Rajeev Chandrasekhar Sets Agenda For Kerala BJP’s Focus On Jobs, Youth Empowerment, And Economic Growth

Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala), March 25: Newly appointed Kerala BJP President Rajeev Chandrasekhar on Tuesday outlined his party’s focus on transforming the lives of Kerala’s people, emphasizing the creation of jobs and opportunities to elevate the state’s economic and social landscape. Drawing inspiration from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s efforts across the country, Chandrasekhar expressed his vision for Kerala’s future, asserting that the BJP would lead the state to a “different trajectory” if voted to power in the 2026 State Assembly Elections.

Speaking to ANI, Chandrasekhar said, “There is only one priority today, which is to bring change to the lives of people in Kerala, just as the PM has done in the country. We want to create more jobs and opportunities. Our aim is to get elected, form a government, and take Kerala on a different trajectory.”

He further added, “The only party and political formation in this country that has demonstrated the capability to grow the economy and change people’s lives is Narendra Modi’s BJP and NDA.”

Addressing the challenges faced by Kerala’s youth, Chandrasekhar highlighted that the state was losing its talented young population due to migration for better opportunities and increasing issues like drug abuse. “Kerala’s youth faces a huge crisis. Today, we are losing talented youth; either they are going abroad, outside the state, or we are losing them to drugs. Investment will come where there is talent,” he explained.

Chandrasekhar called for a concerted effort to retain Kerala’s talent and boost investments in the state, positioning the BJP-NDA as the key to reversing these trends and uplifting the state’s future.

Earlier, on Monday, Chandrasekhar was unanimously elected as the Kerala BJP president, with Union Minister Prahlad Joshi officially making the announcement. His appointment is seen as a strategic move by the party, especially following his strong performance in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, where he narrowly lost to Congress leader Shashi Tharoor in Thiruvananthapuram by just 16,077 votes. Despite the loss, Chandrasekhar improved the party’s vote share in the constituency, securing 35.52 percent, a significant rise from O Rajagopal’s 32.32 percent in the previous election.

Union Minister Suresh Gopi also expressed confidence in Chandrasekhar’s leadership, stating, “Under Rajeev Chandrasekhar’s leadership, the party will reach the next level of performance, for which all of us are getting more equipped to support him.”
