Rajasthan To Host 25th IIFA Awards In Jaipur, Showcasing Culture And Tourism Opportunities

Jaipur (Rajasthan) [India]: Rajasthan is all set to host the 25th Silver Jubilee edition of the International Indian Film Academy Awards (IIFA) 2025 in Jaipur from March 8 to 9. The event promises a blend of cinematic excellence and a showcase of the state’s rich culture and tourism potential.

Rajasthan’s Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari expressed her pride in hosting the prestigious event. She described it as a significant opportunity for the state to shine on a global stage.

“It is a matter of pride for us that IIFA awards are being organised in Jaipur. This is the second time that it is being organised in India. It is a big opportunity for Rajasthan as a global stage is being provided to the state. It will be telecast all over the world,” said Diya Kumari.

She emphasized that the event would not only promote tourism but also attract filmmakers to Rajasthan, thereby generating employment opportunities.

“Filmmakers will be attracted to Rajasthan. Many employment opportunities are generated due to the film’s shooting. Cab operators get sold out, tourist places become crowded, and our craftsmen get work, so there is a direct and indirect employment generation due to the shooting of the film. Rajasthan has a scope of tourism,” added the Deputy CM.

Promoting Rajasthan’s Culture and Tourism

The IIFA Awards will begin with Rajasthani folk performances to highlight the state’s culture. Deputy CM Diya Kumari revealed that this was a condition set by the state government to promote local traditions and arts.

“On 8-9 March, the event will start with cultural programs. This was our condition that folk performances of our state be given a chance. The world will get to see the culture of Rajasthan,” she said.

Additionally, short films showcasing various tourist destinations in Rajasthan have been prepared to promote the state’s tourism potential. A film and tourism policy will also be launched during the event to attract more filmmakers.

A Star-Studded Celebration

The 25th IIFA Awards will feature Kartik Aaryan as the host, promising an entertaining experience for the audience. Bollywood star Kareena Kapoor Khan is set to perform a special tribute to her grandfather, the legendary filmmaker Raj Kapoor.

Marking the 50th anniversary of the iconic film ‘Sholay’ directed by Ramesh Sippy, IIFA will host an exclusive screening at Jaipur’s historic Raj Mandir Cinema, adding a touch of nostalgia for cinema enthusiasts.

IIFA’s New Initiatives: Sports and OTT Recognition

For the first time, the IIFA Awards will include the Sobha Realty IIFA Digital Awards Co-Presented by NEXA, celebrating excellence in OTT and digital entertainment. This initiative underscores IIFA’s commitment to embracing the evolving landscape of the Indian entertainment industry.

Additionally, IIFA 2025 will feature an exciting partnership with the Indian Pro Boxing League (IPBL). Anthony Pettis, the legendary MMA fighter, will make a special appearance, adding a thrilling sports element to the celebration.

Grand Finale and Future Prospects

The grand finale of the IIFA Awards is scheduled for March 9, where the best of Indian cinema will be honored. The event is expected to boost Rajasthan’s image as a prime destination for film shootings and tourism.

Deputy CM Diya Kumari expressed her gratitude and optimism, highlighting that the IIFA Awards will bring global attention to Rajasthan’s rich heritage, culture, and growing infrastructure.
