Rajasthan Deletes 31.36 Lakh Voters, Adds 12.91 Lakh In Final Electoral Roll After Revision

The Election Commission of India’s Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Rajasthan has led to a major reshuffle of the state’s voter list, with 31.36 lakh names deleted and 12.91 lakh new voters added before the publication of the final roll.

Following the revision across 199 विधानसभा constituencies, the total electorate now stands at 5.15 crore, down from 5.46 crore before the SIR process began on October 27, 2025.

Deletions and Additions Explained

According to data released by the state Election Department:

  • 41.84 lakh voters were deleted in the draft roll published in December.
  • After claims and objections, 12.91 lakh new voters were added.
  • An additional 2.42 lakh names were removed before final publication.

This resulted in a net reduction of over 31 lakh voters compared to the pre-revision figures.

Improvement in Sex Ratio

The final electoral list also reflects a modest improvement in the sex ratio.

  • The number of female voters per 1,000 male voters increased from 909 to 911.
  • Jaipur recorded a 7-point rise.
  • Kota saw a 6-point increase.
  • Ajmer, Sirohi, Dungarpur, Bundi, Jhalawar and Baran each reported a 4-point improvement.

Rise in Young Voters

The revision also saw a significant increase in young electors aged 18–19 years. The number of voters in this category rose by 4,35,061 (0.82%) between the draft and final publication.

Notable district-wise increases include:

  • Jaipur – 1.30%
  • Barmer – 1.26%
  • Bharatpur – 1.22%
  • Phalodi – 1.18%
  • Bundi – 1.09%

The final voter list marks a significant update ahead of future elections, with authorities highlighting improvements in data accuracy, gender balance and youth participation.
