Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], December 17 : Businessman Raj Kundra, who has been at the center of a controversy involving allegations of pornography production, broke his silence for the first time in three years.
Kundra, who had kept quiet amid intense media attention, spoke out, particularly because of the involvement of his family in the matter. “Silence is bliss,” he began, explaining his decision to remain silent until now. “But when it comes to family, I feel I should come out and speak. When I stay quiet, people think I’m hiding something. People need to know the truth.”
The businessman vehemently denied any involvement in pornography production, clarifying his role in providing technological services to his brother-in-law’s company, which hosted an app showcasing bold content but not pornography. “I have not been involved in pornography or its production. The allegations were hurtful. The bail was granted because there were no facts or evidence. I know I have done nothing wrong. As for the app, it was a UK-based, A-rated film app made for older audiences. I only provided tech services—nothing inappropriate was done there,” he asserted.
Kundra challenged the media’s portrayal of him as the mastermind behind multiple apps, explaining his limited role in the technological aspect and not in any illicit content. “Let a girl come forward who says she worked on any of my movies or with me,” he remarked.
He expressed his trust in the judicial system and reflected on the emotional strain caused by his three-year legal battle. “I have full faith in the judiciary. If I’m guilty, charge me; if I’m not, discharge me,” he said.
Kundra shared the difficulty of spending 63 days in detention after his arrest, stressing the personal toll of being separated from his family. “Being away from my family and fighting in court was difficult, but I know I did nothing wrong. The 63 days in detention and the damage to my reputation are irreparable, but I will continue to fight,” he said.
Kundra suggested that the entire controversy stemmed from a business rivalry that turned into a personal attack. He claimed to have provided the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) with the names of those he believes orchestrated the plot against him. While not naming individuals publicly, he expressed hope that those responsible would be held accountable. “Karma will be served. Justice will be served,” he added.
In addition to this ongoing case, Kundra is also under scrutiny by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with an alleged money laundering investigation.
