Prayagraj (Uttar Pradesh) [India]: The Indian Railways has announced comprehensive medical facilities at key railway stations in Prayagraj to safeguard the health and safety of pilgrims attending Maha Kumbh 2025.
The provisions include round-the-clock observation rooms equipped to handle emergencies efficiently. These efforts aim to address the unique needs of pilgrims, many of whom adhere to specific dietary routines or medication schedules.
“A lot of people come for the Maha Kumbh, and there are many people who insist that they will only eat something after they have had a bath, or there they already taking some kind of medication. Even due to the large crowd and the winters, there is a possibility of a problem occurring. So Indian Railways is alert for all those things,” said Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) Shashikant Tripathi.
Reflecting on the 2019 Maha Kumbh, Tripathi highlighted that first aid was provided to nearly one lakh devotees, and critical assistance was extended to around 3,000 individuals. The proactive measures ensured no casualties. “This time too, we are ready fully to provide the facilities and the railways will have a medical booth in every platform,” he added.

“Staff has been deployed to ensure that medical services run smoothly in all shifts. The duration of each shift will be 8 hours,” said Tripathi.
In addition to on-site assistance, the Railways will coordinate with nearby hospitals and health centers to facilitate immediate referrals when necessary. Pilgrims can rest assured that 24×7 medical services will be available at all major railway stations during the Maha Kumbh.
