Rahul Gandhi Joins NSUI’s ‘Palayan Roko, Naukri Do’ Rally In Begusarai, Targets Bihar Govt Over Youth Issues

Begusarai (Bihar): Congress MP and Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi joined the ‘Palayan Roko, Naukri Do’ rally in Begusarai on Monday, a campaign led by NSUI National In-Charge Kanhaiya Kumar. The rally is part of a youth-centric initiative to address growing concerns over unemployment, job privatization, and migration in Bihar.

Rahul Gandhi is also set to address a public meeting in Patna later in the day, continuing his outreach efforts in the poll-bound state.

Youth-Centric Agenda

In a post on X ahead of the event, Rahul Gandhi appealed to the youth of Bihar to join him in white t-shirts as a symbol of unity and protest.

“Young friends of Bihar, I will be coming to Begusarai on April 7th to join you in the ‘Roko Palayan, Do Naukri’ campaign. Let’s walk shoulder to shoulder to show the world the spirit and struggles of Bihar’s youth,” he posted.

He urged students and job seekers to raise their voices against what he termed as government apathy towards critical issues like unemployment, inflation, repeated exam paper leaks, and decreasing government job opportunities due to rising privatization.

“This is the Palayan Yatra. Wear a white T-shirt, ask questions, raise your voice. Let’s put pressure on the Bihar government and build a state of opportunities,” he said in a passionate appeal.

A Campaign to Curb Youth Migration

The ‘Palayan Roko Yatra’ is aimed at halting the mass migration of Bihar’s youth to other states in search of jobs. Rahul Gandhi and NSUI are positioning the campaign as a call for systemic change and job creation, especially in the backdrop of Bihar’s enduring challenges with employment and development.

This marks Gandhi’s third visit to Bihar in recent months, following earlier visits on January 18 and February 5, signaling Congress’s growing focus on the state ahead of the 2025 Bihar Assembly Elections scheduled for October-November.
