Rahul Gandhi To Launch ‘Roko Palayan, Do Naukri’ Campaign In Bihar On April 7

New Delhi [India], April 6: Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi announced on Sunday that he will visit Begusarai, Bihar on April 7 to lead the ‘Roko Palayan, Do Naukri’ campaign, aiming to highlight the issues of youth unemployment and migration in the state.

Taking to social media platform X, Gandhi invited Bihar’s youth to walk “shoulder to shoulder” with him and raise their voices against pressing concerns.

“Young friends of Bihar, I will be coming to Begusarai on April 7th to join you in the ‘Roko Palayan, Do Naukri’ campaign. The goal is to show the world the spirit of Bihar’s youth, their struggles, and their hardships,” Gandhi posted.

He also urged attendees to wear white T-shirts as a symbolic gesture to unite and pressure the government to take action on youth-centric issues.

“Come wearing a white T-shirt, ask questions, raise your voice—to put pressure on the government for your rights, to hold them accountable. Let’s come together and make Bihar a state of opportunities,” he said.

Rahul Gandhi emphasized that the campaign targets key issues such as unemployment, inflation, repeated paper leaks, reduction in government jobs, and privatization that does not benefit the youth. Referring to the campaign as the “Palayan Yatra,” he stressed the need to mobilize Bihar’s youth for a better future.

Meanwhile, political tensions in Bihar remain high as RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav strongly criticized the recently passed Waqf (Amendment) Bill. Speaking to the media in Patna, Yadav declared that the bill would be “thrown in the dustbin” if his party returns to power in the state.

“We will form the government and throw this (Waqf Amendment Bill) in the dustbin,” he asserted.

Yadav also commented on the BJP-JD(U) alliance, claiming it is temporary and will likely dissolve after the October 2025 state assembly elections.

“BJP will keep Nitish Kumar with them until the elections. After that, both we and the people of Bihar know very well what will happen to him,” he added.

The Waqf (Amendment) Bill was passed in Rajya Sabha during a post-midnight session, with 128 members voting in favour and 95 against. The Lok Sabha had earlier approved it with 288 votes in favour and 232 opposing.

As Bihar braces for Rahul Gandhi’s upcoming campaign visit, political discourse in the state continues to intensify ahead of the next electoral battle.
