‘Voter Adhikaar Yatra’: Rahul Gandhi, Tejashwi Yadav Ride Motorbikes In Purnea

Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, and Tejashwi Yadav, the leader of the RJD, rode motorbikes through Purnea today as part of their “Voter Adhikaar Yatra.” The two, who are wearing helmets and are flanked by fans, are on a passionate mission to protest against suspected problems with the state’s electoral rolls before the forthcoming Assembly elections.

The main opposition alliance’s main way to get their claims of “vote chori” straight to the public is through the 16-day march that started in Sasaram on August 17. Rahul Gandhi said that the Election Commission of India (ECI) worked with the BJP to change voter lists by removing the names of underprivileged people and adding names to favor the ruling party.

The Congress and RJD leaders are sticking to their statements even though the Election Commission asked for proof and called the charges “baseless.” The Yatra, which will go across 20 districts and span more than 1,300 kilometers, is an important show of strength for the INDIA bloc. The march will end with a big rally in Patna on September 1. Other leaders of the coalition, such Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav, are also expected to join in the next few days.
