Rahul Gandhi Slams UP Govt Over Dalit Girl’s Murder, Calls BJP ‘Anti-Bahujan’

Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh: Congress leader and Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi has strongly condemned the brutal murder of a Dalit girl in Ayodhya, accusing the BJP government in Uttar Pradesh of being “anti-Bahujan” and enabling a rise in heinous atrocities against marginalized communities.

“UP Police Ignored the Family’s Cry for Help”

In a post on X, Rahul Gandhi alleged that the victim’s family had been seeking help for three days, but the administration ignored their pleas.

“The inhumanity and brutal murder of a Dalit daughter in Ayodhya is heart-breaking and very shameful. If the administration had paid heed to the cry for help of the girl’s family that had been echoing for three days, perhaps her life could have been saved,” he wrote.

Questioning the UP government’s inaction, he further asked, “How many more families will have to cry and suffer like this? Under the anti-Bahujan BJP rule, especially in Uttar Pradesh, heinous atrocities, injustice, and murders against Dalits are increasing rampantly.”

Gandhi Demands Justice, Calls for Strict Action

Rahul Gandhi urged the authorities to conduct a fair probe and ensure justice for the victim’s family. He also warned the administration against harassing the grieving family, as has allegedly happened in similar cases before.

“The UP government should immediately investigate this crime, ensure the culprits are given the harshest punishment, and take strict action against responsible policemen. And please do not harass the victim’s family as usual. The daughters of the country and the entire Dalit community are looking towards you for justice,” he added.

Priyanka Gandhi Calls UP ‘BJP’s Jungle Raj’

Earlier, Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra also lashed out at the BJP-led UP government, stating that Dalits, tribals, and backward communities are unheard in “BJP’s Jungle Raj.”

“The kind of barbarism that was meted out to a Dalit girl who had gone to listen to the Bhagwat Katha in Ayodhya would send shivers down the spine of any human being. Such cruel incidents shame the entire humanity,” Priyanka Gandhi said in a post on X.

She further demanded strict action against both the perpetrators and negligent police officers involved in the case.

🔹 He slammed the UP government, calling the murder “inhuman and extremely sad.”
🔹 Prasad stated that if justice is not served, he will resign from the Lok Sabha.

UP Police Detains Suspect, Forms Special Teams

📌 Timeline of Events:
🔹 January 30: Victim was last seen sleeping with her sister.
🔹 January 31: Family reported her missing.

“Three teams have been formed, and one suspect has been taken into custody. The case will be cracked soon, and the guilty will face the strictest punishment through a fast-track court,” said Nayyar.

UP Women’s Commission Assures Justice

Meanwhile, UP Women Commission member Priyanka Maurya met the victim’s family and assured them of justice.

“It is a very sad incident. I came here to meet the family members of the victim. I assured them that justice will be served. Whoever has committed this crime should understand that the Yogi government is in power and the family will get justice,” she told ANI.

Political Uproar Continues

With national political leaders weighing in, the brutal murder of the Dalit girl in Ayodhya has sparked outrage, raising concerns over Dalit safety in Uttar Pradesh.

Will the Yogi government ensure swift justice, or will this case become another statistic in the rising crimes against Dalits? The coming days will be crucial in determining accountability, justice, and political fallout.
