Rahul Gandhi Questions Why Anil Ambani Is Not In Jail, Cites Epstein Files In Parliament

New Delhi: Lok Sabha Leader of the Opposition and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday raised serious allegations in Parliament, questioning why industrialist Anil Ambani had not been jailed, claiming his name appeared in the recently released Epstein-related files.

Speaking during the discussion on the Union Budget, Gandhi said, “There is a businessman Anil Ambani. I want to ask why he is not in jail? The reason is that his name is in the Epstein Files. I would also like to ask Hardeep Puri, who introduced him to Epstein. I know who introduced him, and Hardeep Puri knows who introduced him.”

Rahul Gandhi Reiterates Allegations Outside Parliament

After his speech, Gandhi repeated his claims while speaking to reporters, stating that he would authenticate the information.

“I have said that I will authenticate the data. There are Department of Justice files on Epstein naming Hardeep Puri and Anil Ambani. There is direct pressure on the Prime Minister. In a normal situation, no PM would do what has happened in terms of data, farmers, energy security and defence. Someone would do this only when there is a certain grip on them,” he alleged.

Government Previously Dismissed Epstein File References

Earlier, on January 31, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) strongly rejected references to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 2017 Israel visit mentioned in an email allegedly linked to the Epstein files.

MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal described the reference as “trashy ruminations” made by a convicted criminal, dismissing reports that sought to link Indian leaders to the Epstein documents.

Political Row Likely to Escalate

Gandhi’s remarks are expected to trigger a political confrontation, with the ruling BJP likely to challenge the authenticity and intent behind the allegations, while the Congress continues to push for clarity on the Epstein-linked documents.
