Rahul Gandhi Expresses Support For Students In BPSC Protest

New Delhi [India], January 3: As protests continue in Patna by Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) aspirants demanding a re-examination of the 70th BPSC prelims, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has expressed strong solidarity with the students.

The aspirants are seeking the cancellation of the Integrated Combined (Preliminary) Competitive Examination (CCE) 2024, which was held by the BPSC on December 13. They have alleged irregularities in the exam process and are demanding justice.

Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition, took to social media to support the students, criticizing the BJP for its treatment of youth in India. He likened the government’s actions to the mythological story of Ekalavya, claiming that the BJP is “cutting the thumb” of young Indians and jeopardizing their futures.

“Failure in government recruitment is a grave injustice,” Gandhi wrote in a Hindi post on X (formerly Twitter). “First, recruitment is not announced. Even when it is, exams are delayed, papers are leaked, and when the youth demand justice, their voices are ruthlessly silenced.”

Gandhi also condemned the arrest of two students protesting alleged irregularities in the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC) exams, calling it an example of how the BJP government has “broken the trust of students” and “strangled” the democratic system.

He reiterated his support for students’ rights: “We are with the students in their fight for their rights. We will not allow the BJP to suppress the voice of the youth in this country at any cost.”

Meanwhile, in a show of support for the BPSC protesters, Purnea MP Pappu Yadav organized a ‘rail roko’ at the Sachiwalay Halt Railway Station. The demonstration was dispersed by police forces earlier today.
