Rahul Gandhi Criticizes Privatisation And Contract Jobs, Meets NDMC Employees

New Delhi [India]: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi visited the Maharishi Valmiki Temple in New Delhi on Tuesday and later met with New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) employees, criticizing the policies of “privatisation and contract jobs” as tools to deprive the poor of their rights.

Gandhi, who serves as the Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha, accused the BJP-led Central government and the AAP government in Delhi of creating unemployment and failing to ensure proper wages for workers through their privatization and contract job policies.

“Today I visited Maharishi Valmiki Temple in Delhi. After the darshan, I met NDMC employees in a nearby colony. They told me that due to the privatisation and contract job policies of the BJP’s central government and the AAP’s Delhi government, thousands of people are unemployed and not getting proper salaries,” Gandhi shared in a post on X.

He further added, “We are constantly raising this issue – privatisation and contract jobs are weapons to snatch the rights of the poor and the Bahujans. We will check this first.”

The Congress party has intensified its campaign efforts ahead of the Delhi Assembly elections scheduled for February 5. Facing setbacks in the last two elections, the party aims to regain its foothold in the national capital.
