The two engaged in a high-level dialogue with prominent Indian-origin business leaders in Boston, discussing themes like entrepreneurship, technology, inclusivity, and the importance of ethical leadership.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Pitroda shared:

“Spent a productive morning with @RahulGandhi engaging with some of India’s sharpest business minds… It’s clear that the private sector has a major role to play in building a just, innovative, and inclusive India.”

He added,

“Grateful for the insights and the spirit of collaboration in the room.”

Key Focus Areas of the Discussion

  • The intersection of technology and social justice
  • Ethical leadership as a foundation for national growth
  • Empowering youth and ensuring inclusive participation across sectors

Academic and Diaspora Engagements Ahead

Rahul Gandhi, currently Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, arrived at Boston Logan International Airport and will head to Brown University, Rhode Island, on April 21-22. There, he will deliver a talk and engage with faculty and students in a closed-door session aimed at strengthening Indo-American academic ties.

Additionally, he is set to:

  • Interact with Indian Overseas Congress (IOC) members
  • Meet NRI community leaders and local office-bearers
  • Hold informal conversations on the global outlook of Indian politics

Background Context

This is Rahul Gandhi’s second trip to the U.S. in recent months. His previous visit in September 2024 focused on strategic outreach with the Indian diaspora and global thought leaders. The Congress Party is positioning Gandhi’s international interactions as part of a broader effort to reconnect with Indian voters abroad and signal global credibility.
