Actor Raashii Khanna celebrated her birthday with a spiritual visit to the Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi. Sharing glimpses of her special day on Instagram, she wrote, “Celebrating my birthday, immersed in the divine, in the eternal city of Kashi where time stands still and souls find solace! So grateful. Har Har Mahadev.” The actress posted a series of serene photos from her time at the temple, including moments of peaceful solitude and participating in a pooja with her family.
On the professional front, Raashii was recently seen in The Sabarmati Report, a film that also stars Vikrant Massey and Ridhi Dogra. The movie has garnered attention, with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath attending a screening alongside the cast. Adityanath praised Vikrant Massey and the team for their efforts, stating, “The people of this country deserve to know the truth behind actions that have fueled societal divisions. To promote the film further, we are making it tax-free in the state.” Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini also commended the film, calling it a respectful portrayal of the 2002 Godhra train-burning incident. He expressed, “The film is a tribute to the 59 lives lost in the tragedy. The filmmakers have handled the subject with sensitivity and dignity.”
Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel also declared the film tax-free in the state, and Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, along with BJP MP Anurag Thakur, attended a screening, with Puri calling the film “powerful.” He noted that thanks to Ektaa Kapoor’s initiative, the truth about the incident has finally come to light.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also praised The Sabarmati Report, calling it an important film about the 2002 Godhra train coach-burning incident. Responding to a post on X (formerly Twitter), he wrote, “It is good that this truth is coming out, and that too in a way common people can see it. A fake narrative can persist only for a limited period. Eventually, the facts will always come out.”
Directed by Dheeraj Sarna and produced by Shobha Kapoor, Ektaa R Kapoor, Amul V Mohan, and Anshul Mohan, The Sabarmati Report is based on the real-life events surrounding the burning of the S-6 coach of the Sabarmati Express in Godhra.
