The anticipation for director Aditya Dhar’s spy action thriller, Dhurandhar, has peaked with the release of a dramatic new character poster featuring actor R Madhavan.
The poster, which dropped on Sunday, showcases Madhavan in a formal grey suit, wearing frameless glasses and a stern, almost unrecognizable expression. The makers captioned the image, calling the character “The Charioteer of Karma.”
Madhavan as Ajit Doval?
The transformation immediately sparked intense speculation among fans and the media, with many convinced that Madhavan is portraying India’s current National Security Advisor, Ajit Doval. While the makers have not officially confirmed the character’s identity, multiple fan reactions on social media echoed the belief.
This casting buzz follows earlier reports suggesting that the film is heavily inspired by Doval’s life and covert operations, particularly those related to the India-Pakistan border. Reports from earlier in the year even indicated that Madhavan was cast specifically for the role of the NSA, a character often referred to as India’s “James Bond.”
Lead actor Ranveer Singh publicly cheered his co-star, reacting to the look on social media by writing, “Maddy Supremacy! 🔥”
Ensemble Cast Reveals Intensify Hype
Madhavan’s look follows the release of Arjun Rampal’s first look just yesterday. Ranveer Singh introduced Rampal’s character as the “Angel of Death,” showing the actor in a rugged, intimidating avatar complete with a long beard, dark glasses, and a cigar.
Dhurandhar, which also stars Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, and Sara Arjun, is reported to be based on true events and the bravery of Indian special agents. Ranveer Singh is speculated to be playing an undercover spy.
The much-awaited trailer is scheduled to be released in a grand ceremony on November 12, 2025, at 12:12 PM. Reports indicate that nearly 2,000 Ranveer Singh fans will attend the launch event in Mumbai. The film is slated to hit theaters on December 5, 2025.
