Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], June 17: The much-anticipated romantic comedy Aap Jaisa Koi, starring R Madhavan and Fatima Sana Shaikh, is set to premiere on Netflix on July 11, the makers announced on Monday.
Excitement around the film has been building ever since its first look was revealed a few months ago, with fans eager to see Madhavan return to the romance genre. The film promises a refreshing blend of humor, warmth, and emotional depth.
In Aap Jaisa Koi, Madhavan plays Shrirenu, a reserved Sanskrit teacher, while Fatima essays the role of Madhu, a lively and free-spirited French instructor. The story revolves around how two seemingly opposite individuals find connection and meaning amidst themes of love, family, and personal rediscovery.
Directed by Vivek Soni, who earlier helmed Meenakshi Sundareshwar, the film explores the complexities of modern relationships with tenderness and charm. “Aap Jaisa Koi is a film about breaking free from the walls we build around ourselves,” Soni shared. “It’s about embracing the awkwardness and vulnerability of love… a story that quietly questions the roles we fall into in relationships.”
