R. Ashok, Leader Of Karnataka Legislative Assembly Slams Siddaramiah On MUDA Case

Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India]: The allegations against Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramiah in the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) case, have now snowballed into a full-fledged war of words between the Congress and the BJP. On Friday, BJP cadres agitated in Mysuru demanding a CBI probe in the case.

R. Ashoka, leader of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly, took to social media platform X and slammed the Chief Minister.

“As the noose of law tightens in the Rs 4,000-crore Muda land grab, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, in his usual style, is desperately trying to get protection in the name of caste. CM Siddaramaiah, did not your leader Rahul Gandhi get reprimanded in the court for insulting the surname ‘Modi’, a backward class person who was a two-time prime minister?

What have they done for Dalits and backward people who have enjoyed power all their lives riding on the backs of backward communities? You looted the money of the Dalits, took the chair of the Dalits and cheated them, this is your achievement. Those who have eaten salt must drink water. Full of their sins. Atonement awaits,” Ashoka posted.

Earlier today, the Karnataka BJP President BY VIjayendra and other party workers were detained by the Karnataka police in Mysuru. They were protesting against the state government over the alleged irregularities in Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) case.

Vijayendra and the BJP have demanded a CBI probe into the allegations.

“There should be an impartial investigation. There cannot be an SIT investigation headed by the state government. The BJP is demanding that CM Siddaramiah resign immediately and the cases should be handed over to the CBI for a thorough investigation,” Vijayendra said.

“The CM himself is involved in this scam; he should resign. Not only the CM’s family but many ministers and their relatives are also involved in this scam. It is a scam worth more than Rs 5000 crores. So, the CM cannot escape responsibility. Being the CM of the state, he should answer to the people of Karnataka. We demand that he hand over the investigation of this case to CBI,” he added.

The move by the Karnataka government to detain protestors in Mysuru was lambasted by the BJP.

“CM Siddaramaiah a self-proclaimed defender of the Constitution, If the BJP leaders have gone to Mysore to fight against the corruption of their government, are you not showing a dictatorial attitude by using the police to block our way? In the constitution that their leader Rahul Gandhi is demonstrating, doesn’t the opposition have the right to fight? Is it a crime for opposition parties to question the government in the democracy that their party advocates? Are you using the police to prevent opposition leaders from going to Mysore to protest, what undeclared emergency is there in Karnataka? If their conscience is clear, if they are honest as they say, hand over the Muda scam to the CBI,” said the leader of the opposition R Ashoka.

CM Siddaramiah has ruled out the occurrence of any scams, saying that the land allotment under the MUDA order was carried out under the BJP government in 2021
