Chandigarh [India]: Punjab AAP president and state minister Aman Arora on Wednesday lauded the Indian Army’s decisive action in response to the brutal Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed 26 lives. Referring to the recent precision strikes under ‘Operation Sindoor’, Arora called it a “befitting reply” by the armed forces and the people of India.
Speaking on Punjab’s preparedness due to its shared border with Pakistan, Arora stated, “All precautions have been taken considering the border that Punjab shares with Pakistan. The Punjab Police is prepared as a second line of defence. Border districts are kept on high alert.”
To ensure public safety, he added that public events and large gatherings had been cancelled and that the state government is strictly adhering to the advisories issued by the central government.
In response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, the Indian Armed Forces executed a coordinated military strike on Wednesday morning targeting terror camps deep inside Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK). The operation, codenamed ‘Operation Sindoor’, aimed at dismantling nine terror camps associated with anti-India activity.
During a press briefing in New Delhi, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri emphasized the mission’s goal of bringing the perpetrators to justice. “It was essential to bring those behind the Pahalgam attack to justice,” he said.
According to the Ministry of Defence, the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force jointly carried out the precision strikes, carefully selecting the locations to target senior leadership and infrastructure of terror outfits Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT).
Sources confirmed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi closely monitored the operation throughout the night, underscoring the government’s firm stance on counter-terrorism.
