Priyanka Gandhi Slams UP Government Over Dalit Girl’s Murder In Ayodhya

New Delhi [India]: Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi on Sunday criticized the BJP-led Uttar Pradesh government following the murder of a Dalit girl in Ayodhya. She accused the state government of failing to protect marginalized communities and termed the incident a “shame on humanity.”

Priyanka Gandhi’s Statement

Priyanka Gandhi expressed shock and outrage over the brutality of the crime.

“The kind of barbarism that was meted out to a Dalit girl who had gone to listen to the Bhagwat Katha in Ayodhya would send shivers down the spine of any human being. Such cruel incidents shame the entire humanity.”

She further alleged that the police ignored the case despite the girl being missing for three days and blamed the BJP government for failing Dalits, tribals, and backward communities.

“In the BJP’s Jungle Raj, no one is there to listen to the cries of Dalits, tribals, backward and poor. The UP government has become synonymous with atrocities on Dalits. I demand strict action against those guilty of this crime, as well as the responsible policemen and officers,” she added.

Samajwadi Party MP Awadhesh Prasad Breaks Down

Meanwhile, Samajwadi Party MP Awadhesh Prasad broke down in tears during a press conference while condemning the incident.

Calling it an “extremely sad and inhuman crime,” he vowed to resign from the Lok Sabha if justice is not served. His fellow panellists consoled him as he struggled to control his emotions.

Police Investigation and Suspect Detained

The Uttar Pradesh Police provided details of the case, confirming that the girl went missing on January 30 and was found dead in a field on February 2.

“On January 31, information was received that a girl, who had been sleeping beside her sister the previous night, had gone missing. Her family immediately alerted the police. A case was registered, and two teams were formed to search for her,” said Ayodhya SSP Raj Karan Nayyar.

Upon discovery of the unclothed body in a field, forensic teams collected evidence, indicating that the murder took place elsewhere, and the body was dumped at the spot.

In response, three special teams have been formed, and one suspect has been detained for questioning.

“The case will be cracked soon, and the guilty will receive the strictest punishment through a fast-track court,” SSP Nayyar assured.

The incident has sparked outrage and demands for swift justice, highlighting concerns over law and order in Uttar Pradesh.
