Mumbai – Veteran ad filmmaker Prahlad Kakkar has made several revealing statements about actress Priyanka Chopra’s past, discussing her “serious affair,” her early career struggles, and her bold decision to move to Hollywood. While Kakkar did not name the person involved in the alleged affair, his comments fueled long-standing Bollywood rumors of a connection between Chopra and Shah Rukh Khan.
In an interview with Vickey Lalwani, Kakkar said that Chopra’s dignified silence on the matter suggested the relationship was “serious” and “very personal” to her. He noted that if it had been a “frivolous” relationship, she would have “laughed” it off.
Kakkar also shed light on the challenges Chopra faced at the start of her career. He recalled her competing against Lara Dutta in the 2000 Femina Miss India pageant, where despite her disadvantages, she won the first runner-up title. He described her early struggles, saying, “First, she was dark. Second, she had a bad skin.” He also commented on her physique, stating she was a “big-boned girl” who had to work “damn hard” to achieve her look in films like Dostana.
Additionally, Kakkar praised Chopra for her courageous decision to leave Bollywood at a time when she was no longer a top-line heroine and restart her career in the West. He highlighted the immense risk involved in such a move, especially for an Indian actress, and commended her for being the first to successfully establish herself in Hollywood.
