New Delhi [India]: Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi on Monday lauded the Indian Armed Forces for their decisive counter-terror operations, stating that over 100 terrorists were neutralised in the latest strikes. Her remarks come amid a wave of political backing for Operation Sindoor, India’s robust military response to escalating cross-border terrorism.
“Indian strikes killed over 100 terrorists who could potentially carry out attacks in any part of the world. The world should thank the Indian Armed Forces for decisively striking at the heart of terror,”
Chaturvedi wrote in a post on X (formerly Twitter), praising the operational precision and global implications of the action.
Rejects US Mediation on Kashmir
Chaturvedi also took a firm stance against external intervention on the Kashmir issue, shortly after US President Donald Trump again offered mediation, claiming a role in the recent ceasefire understanding between India and Pakistan.
“We don’t need a US intervention or of that of any other country to find a solution on Kashmir. Destiny has given us that responsibility and India must rise up to that challenge,”
she said on X, asserting India’s sovereignty and internal resolve in handling Kashmir.
Trump Claims Mediation Role Amid Ceasefire
President Trump, in a post on Truth Social, welcomed the cessation of hostilities and praised the leadership of both India and Pakistan for averting potential nuclear conflict.
“Millions of good and innocent people could have died! … I am proud that the USA was able to help you arrive at this historic and heroic decision,”
he wrote, adding that he would work toward increased trade and potentially revisit Kashmir peace talks, which he claimed could yield a solution after “a thousand years.”
India Reasserts No Third-Party Role in Kashmir
India, however, downplayed the US involvement, reiterating that the Director Generals of Military Operations (DGMOs) of both countries were solely responsible for the agreement on halting military engagement.
External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar reinforced India’s long-standing policy of non-tolerance to terrorism and non-acceptance of foreign mediation in Kashmir:
“India and Pakistan have worked out an understanding on stoppage of firing and military action. India has consistently maintained a firm and uncompromising stance against terrorism in all its forms and manifestations. It will continue to do so.”
As Operation Sindoor garners widespread national support and India continues to resist external influence on its territorial and security matters, political leaders like Chaturvedi have echoed the public sentiment for national self-reliance, particularly on issues as sensitive as Kashmir and counter-terrorism.
