Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India]: The much-awaited ‘Hera Pheri 3’ is finally happening! On the occasion of Priyadarshan’s birthday, the iconic filmmaker confirmed that he is ready to helm the third installment of the beloved comedy franchise starring Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, and Suniel Shetty.
Priyadarshan’s Announcement Sparks Excitement
Earlier on Thursday, Akshay Kumar took to social media to wish Priyadarshan a happy birthday, sharing a candid image from the sets of Bhooth Bangla.
“Happy Birthday, Priyan Sir! What better way to celebrate than by spending the day on a haunted set, surrounded by ghosts… both real and unpaid extras? Thank you for being a mentor and the only person who can make chaos look like a masterpiece. May your day be filled with fewer retakes. Wishing you a fantastic year ahead!”
In response, Priyadarshan gave fans the ultimate gift—a ‘Hera Pheri 3’ confirmation!
“Thank you so much for your wishes, Akshay Kumar. In return, I would like to give you a gift—I am willing to do Hera Pheri 3. Are you ready, Akshay?”
He also tagged Suniel Shetty and Paresh Rawal, further fueling the excitement.
Paresh Rawal and Akshay React with Joy
Veteran actor Paresh Rawal, known for his legendary portrayal of Baburao, responded with nostalgia and enthusiasm.
“Dear Priyan ji, you are the mother who brought this divine bundle of joy into the world! Thanks once again for taking custody of this ever-smiling baby! Welcome, sir, and make the world happy again! @priyadarshandir #HeraPheri3.”
Akshay Kumar, too, couldn’t contain his excitement. He responded with a “miracle, miracle” meme from the original Hera Pheri, writing:
“Sir!!! Your birthday and I got the best gift of my life. Chalo karte hain phir thodi Hera Pheri 3 🙂 @pareshrawalofficial @suniel.shetty @priyadarshan.official.”
The Legacy of Hera Pheri
The original Hera Pheri, directed by Priyadarshan, was released in 2000 and became an all-time Bollywood comedy classic. Starring Akshay Kumar (Raju), Suniel Shetty (Shyam), Paresh Rawal (Baburao), and Tabu, the film won over audiences with its hilarious plot and iconic dialogues.
The 2006 sequel, Phir Hera Pheri, directed by the late Neeraj Vora, continued the madness with additional characters played by Bipasha Basu, Rajpal Yadav, and Rimi Sen.
Now, with Priyadarshan back in charge, fans are hopeful that Hera Pheri 3 will recapture the original magic and deliver another laugh riot.
