Los Angeles [US]: Prime Video has announced the upcoming India premiere of the highly anticipated miniseries Fellow Travelers, set to release on April 17 in India.
Created by Ron Nyswaner, Fellow Travelers is a gripping political thriller and love story set during the McCarthy-era in Washington, DC. The series is directed by Uta Briesewitz, Destiny Ekaragha, James Kent, and Daniel Minahan, and stars Matt Bomer and Jonathan Bailey in leading roles, alongside an ensemble cast featuring Jelani Alladin, Linus Roache, Noah J. Ricketts, and Allison Williams.
The series chronicles the clandestine romance between two men from starkly different worlds: Hawkins Fuller (Bomer), a charismatic, behind-the-scenes political operator, and Tim Laughlin (Bailey), an idealistic and religiously devout young man. Their relationship begins just as Joseph McCarthy and Roy Cohn ignite a war against “subversives and sexual deviants,” marking one of the darkest periods in 20th-century American history.
Spanning four decades, Fellow Travelers follows the characters through tumultuous historical moments, including the Vietnam War protests of the 1960s, the hedonistic drug-fueled disco era of the 1970s, and the devastating AIDS crisis of the 1980s. The series explores both their personal struggles and the societal obstacles they face.
Co-produced by Fremantle and SHOWTIME, Fellow Travelers will be distributed internationally by Paramount Global Content Distribution
