Washington, DC [US], March 26- US President Donald Trump has reaffirmed that American national security remains stronger than ever, pointing to recent successful military actions against the Houthis in Yemen.
“Our National Security is stronger than it has ever been. We have had very successful and numerous attacks on that area (Yemen),” Trump said in a White House interview, emphasizing the effectiveness of the strikes.
Trump labeled the Houthis as a significant threat, noting, “These are the people that shoot down ships right out of the water. They also happen to be shooting anything that is flying through the area.” He further highlighted the deteriorating situation for the Houthi forces, claiming, “The Houthis are on the run; the worst ones have been killed.” Expressing frustration that these actions were not taken earlier, he added, “This should have been done a long time ago.” He also criticized the Houthis for their tactics, saying, “They randomly shoot missiles on ships, and they make their own missiles.”
The President dismissed concerns regarding potential leaks of classified information, stating, “There was no classified information, as I understand. They used an app that a lot of people in the government and the media use.”
Trump also took aim at The Atlantic, dismissing its credibility by declaring, “The Atlantic is a failed magazine and nobody gives a damn about it.” He voiced his support for National Security Advisor Mike Waltz, saying, “He is a very good man and he will continue to do a good job.”
NSA Mike Waltz echoed Trump’s criticism of media misinformation, saying, “There are a lot of journalists in the city who have made big names for themselves, making up lies about this President.” Waltz confirmed that officials were investigating how a particular journalist managed to enter a secured room.
Further discussing broader security measures, Waltz credited Trump’s leadership, stating, “The world owes President Trump a favor. Under Biden, global shipping was shut down.” He also highlighted the efforts of the administration’s National Security team, noting, “We have a National Security team that was coordinating these efforts.”
