President Trump Reaffirms Gaza Ceasefire: ‘Nothing Will Jeopardize The Truce,’ Warns Hamas Of ‘Termination’

Washington, D.C. | October 29, 2025 — Donald Trump, the President of the United States, has said again that he is committed to the ceasefire in Gaza, saying that “nothing will jeopardize the truce” that went into effect on Wednesday.

Trump’s comments come not long after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered “immediate, powerful” airstrikes on the Gaza Strip because Hamas was said to have broken the ceasefire agreement.

“If Hamas Doesn’t Behave, They Will Be Killed”

On Air Force One, President Trump told reporters that Israel has the right to respond to any assault, but he also said that the ceasefire is still in effect and that Washington is committed to keeping it that way.

Trump added, “Israel has the right to respond to the alleged violations by Hamas.” He also warned the Palestinian militant group that it would be “terminated” if it kept provoking bloodshed.

He went on to say, “If Hamas doesn’t behave, they will be killed.” He stressed that the ceasefire in Gaza will be in place even though there are problems on the ground.

The president’s comments show that Washington is firmly committed to keeping the region stable while also supporting Israel’s right to defend itself.

Vance Says Ceasefire Is “Holding” Even Though Attacks Have Started Up Again

Trump’s words are similar to what US Vice President JD Vance said before. He said that the ceasefire is still “holding,” even though sources say that at least 30 people have died in Gaza since Israeli raids.

Vance said that the US government is still keeping a close eye on the situation and is asking everyone to stick to the truce to keep things from getting worse.

History

The United States and its regional partners helped broker a truce in Gaza earlier this month. The goal was to stop weeks of heavy conflict between Israel and Hamas. But the ongoing fighting has made people worry about how weak the deal is.

The White House said that both parties are still required to keep their promises under the ceasefire framework, even though there has been bloodshed recently.

The US has also said again that it supports humanitarian aid to Gaza and has started diplomatic talks again to make the area more stable.
