Crash Site Update:
The London-bound Air India flight AI171 crashed into a doctors’ hostel in the Meghaninagar area shortly after take-off from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport, Ahmedabad. The aircraft had 242 people onboard, including 12 crew members.
A senior Ahmedabad police official confirmed:
- 70–80% of the crash site has been cleared
- A green corridor is being created for ambulances and emergency response
- The crash occurred just minutes after takeoff and the aircraft hit a residential building
Rescue Operations in Full Swing:
