President Murmu And Indonesian President Subianto Depart After 76th Republic Day Celebrations

New Delhi [India], January 26: President Droupadi Murmu, alongside her Indonesian counterpart, President Prabowo Subianto, departed from Kartavya Path in New Delhi following the conclusion of the 76th Republic Day celebrations on Sunday. The two leaders made their way to the Rashtrapati Bhawan in the presidential buggy, escorted by the President’s bodyguards.

Indonesia was invited as the chief guest for this year’s Republic Day celebrations, with President Subianto joining the event. A notable highlight was the participation of an Indonesian contingent, which included a 190-member military band and 152 cadets from the Indonesian National Armed Forces.

Indonesia’s rich military musical tradition took center stage during the parade, as the 190-member Genderang Suling Canka Lokananta band performed for the audience at Kartavya Path. The band’s spectacular display of discipline and unity, featuring a blend of snare drums, tenor drums, bass drums, trombones, trumpets, and flutes, showcased Indonesia’s military prowess. The name “Canka Lokananta” reflects the band’s role in instilling values of discipline and teamwork among cadets.

The Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) made a significant contribution to the Republic Day celebrations with a marching contingent of 152 soldiers, representing all branches of the military. Their synchronized movements embodied Indonesia’s unity and strength, echoing the national motto, “Bhinneka Tunggal Ika” (Unity in Diversity), and symbolized the country’s military readiness and cultural heritage.

Earlier, President Murmu led the Republic Day celebrations, commemorating 75 years since the adoption of India’s Constitution and emphasizing “Jan Bhagidari” (people’s participation). Prime Minister Narendra Modi also paid tribute to India’s fallen heroes at the National War Memorial.
