Preity Zinta Pens Heartfelt Note After PBKS Narrow IPL 2025 Final Loss: “The Job Is Still Half Done”

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], June 6: Days after Punjab Kings (PBKS) faced a close defeat in the IPL 2025 Final against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), team co-owner and Bollywood actor Preity Zinta shared an emotional and uplifting message for the team and fans.

Taking to social media, Preity praised her team’s spirited performance and resilience throughout the season.

It didn’t end the way we wanted it to but the journey was spectacular! It was exciting, entertaining & inspiring. I loved the fight and grit our young team—our Shers—showed throughout the tournament,” she wrote.

Praise for Captain & Uncapped Players

The actress reserved special praise for PBKS skipper Shreyas Iyer, affectionately called Sarpanch Sahab by fans.

I loved the way our captain led from the front and how Indian uncapped players dominated this IPL,” she added.

A Season of Highs & Hurdles

Preity also reflected on the unusual challenges faced by PBKS during IPL 2025, including injuries, scheduling disruptions, venue shifts, and more.

This year was unique. We smashed records even though we lost key players to injury and national duty, witnessed a tournament pause, relocated home games, and even evacuated a stadium!

Despite these hurdles, Punjab Kings finished top of the points table for the first time in a decade and fought valiantly in the final.

Emotional Promise to Fans

I am so proud of each and every player… and a heartfelt thank you to our Sher Squad—our fans. Whatever we are & how far we’ve reached is because of you. I promise, we will come back to finish the job, because as of now the job is still half done,” Zinta signed off with her signature #Ting.

IPL 2025 Final Recap: PBKS vs RCB

Despite the loss, PBKS emerged as one of the most exciting teams of IPL 2025, and fans are already looking forward to their comeback next season.
