Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India]: Actor and co-owner of Punjab Kings (PBKS), Preity Zinta, is in high spirits as her team continues to shine in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) season, particularly following their impressive victories in the last two matches.
On Friday night, PBKS registered a clinical win over Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in a rain-affected match at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. The game, which was reduced to 14 overs per side, saw PBKS chase down a modest target of 96 in just 12.1 overs. They achieved the target comfortably after restricting RCB to a total of 95/9, with an outstanding performance from the bowlers and a composed finish by Nehal Wadhera.
As is her tradition after each PBKS win, Preity took to Instagram to congratulate the entire team. Sharing her excitement, she posted, “Teamwork makes the dream work – and last night @punjabkingsipl proved it! Fantastic bowling from @yuzi_chahal23 @arshdeep.singh_ @marco7jansen @harpreetsbrar95 @xavier_bartlett and a solid chase by our batters. A big shout out to @nehalwadhera for leading us to victory & of course great captaincy by @shreyasiyer96! #Ting #basjeetnahai #SaddaPunjab #saddasquad.”
During the post-match presentation, PBKS captain Shreyas Iyer reflected on the unpredictable nature of T20 cricket, noting, “Variety is the spice of life, and we are here to experience all kinds of games here; it’s a great challenge.” Iyer also explained his instinctive decision-making during the match, saying, “There was no thinking to be honest, I was just taking instinctive moves. I just didn’t want new batters to come in and settle in. Jansen was getting a lot of bounce, and he was bowling lethally.”
Looking ahead, Punjab Kings’ next match is again against RCB, and fans are eager to see if the team can maintain their winning streak.
