Jan Suraaj Party founder and former political strategist Prashant Kishor on Thursday addressed a public gathering, narrating his transition from guiding top political leaders to victory to now dedicating his efforts toward transforming lives in his home state of Bihar.
At the heart of his message was a deep-rooted commitment to public service over political consultancy. “I am not a political leader. I am the son of an ordinary family from Bihar,” Kishor said, highlighting his humble roots.
“For 10 years, I advised top leaders and helped them win. But that didn’t change people’s lives. Now, I want to hold the hands of Bihar’s people and bring real change.”
Kishor, widely recognized for his strategic role in shaping successful political campaigns across India, explained his departure from high-profile advisory roles three years ago. He now aims to apply his knowledge directly to uplift Bihar’s citizens through the Jan Suraaj movement, which emphasizes good governance, education, health, and employment.
Bihar Gears Up for Assembly Elections
Meanwhile, the Election Commission of India (ECI) has initiated full-scale preparations for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections, slated for later this year. A national-level training programme for over 200 booth-level agents was conducted in Delhi as part of the ECI’s efforts to ensure a smooth, fair, and transparent electoral process.
The elections are set to witness a high-stakes showdown between:
- The ruling NDA alliance, comprising the BJP and JD(U) under Chief Minister Nitish Kumar
- The opposition Mahagathbandhan, featuring the RJD, Congress, and Left parties
Kishor’s Jan Suraaj Party, though a newer player, is expected to bring a fresh narrative centered on people-first development rather than electoral arithmetic.
