Prashant Kishor To Skip Bihar Election 2025 Contest; Focuses On Jan Suraaj Party’s Organisational Work

Patna: Prashant Kishor, the head of the Jan Suraaj Party, said on Wednesday that he will not run for office in the important Bihar Assembly elections that will take place in November. Kishor said that the party made the choice as a strategic move for its own growth and gain.

Kishor told the media, “We made the decision for the greater good of the party.” He said, “If I were to run, it would have taken my focus away from the important organizational work.” This showed how committed he was to the grassroots growth of Jan Suraaj.

In the Raghopur Contest, Jan Suraaj puts Chanchal Singh up against Tejashwi.

The head of the Jan Suraaj Party also talked about the rumors that he would square off against RJD’s Tejashwi Yadav directly in the Raghopur seat. Many people thought that the constituency would have a high-profile “Prashant Kishor vs. Tejashwi Yadav” race, but the party elected to run a local businessman named Chanchal Singh instead. Kishor said that the party’s leaders reached this choice together.

Even though he didn’t run, Kishor was very sure that his party could make a difference. He said, “If Jan Suraaj Party wins the Bihar polls, it will have an effect across the country.” The path of national politics will change.

Confident of a Clear Mandate: “Fewer than 10 or More than 150 Seats”

Prashant Kishor told media in an exclusive interview that he had a shocking forecast for how the party will do, saying that the result would be dramatic.

“I can say for sure that I have been saying on record that I expect a count of either fewer than 10 seats or more than 150 seats. He said, “There is no chance of anything in between,” suggesting that he was sure that the party would either win by a large margin or lose by a large margin.

Kishor said that a broken mandate was not possible in the event of a hung legislature. But he did say what success and failure would imply for his political career.

He said, “If the total is less than 150, even if it’s 120 or 130, I will lose.” He went on to say that if the party does well, they will have the power to “change Bihar and make it one of the ten most advanced states in the country.” On the other hand, a bad result would show that the people doesn’t trust him, forcing him and his party “to continue to carry on with our politics of the street and society (samaj aur sadak ki rajneeti).”

So far, the Jan Suraaj Party has put out three lists of people who want to run for the 243-seat Assembly. On November 6 and November 11, there will be two stages of polling. Counting the votes will happen on November 14.
