August 2, 2025: A special court in Bengaluru has sentenced former Janata Dal (Secular) MP Prajwal Revanna to life imprisonment in the ‘sex tape scandal’ case. The verdict was delivered in a rape case registered at the Holenarsipura Rural police station, where a 48-year-old domestic help at the Revanna family’s farmhouse had accused him of repeated rape and video recording the act.
The sentence comes after Prajwal was arrested by the SIT in May 2024. Forensic and DNA evidence presented in court proved that Revanna had committed the crime. This is the first sentence to be delivered in the four cases registered against the former MP.
