Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], April 9— Choreographer-actor Prabhu Deva and actor-producer Vishnu Manchu met Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in Lucknow on Wednesday as part of promotional activities for their upcoming film Kannappa. The team also included Mohan Babu, Chancellor of Mohan Babu University, and Vinay Maheshwari.
During the visit, CM Yogi Adityanath signed a poster of Kannappa and extended his best wishes to the cast and crew for the film’s success. The delegation presented the Chief Minister with a glass painting and other mementoes, followed by a group photo session.
For the occasion, Prabhu Deva wore a pink shirt and white pants, while Vishnu Manchu sported blue jeans, a grey shirt, and a beaded necklace — a nod to the film’s spiritual and religious themes.
Kannappa is a mythological epic based on the life of the legendary devotee of Lord Shiva, Kannappa. Originally set to release on April 25, the film’s release has been postponed, with new dates yet to be announced.
Vishnu Manchu plays the titular role, with Preity Mukhundhan as the female lead. The film boasts an ensemble cast featuring cinematic icons like Mohanlal, Akshay Kumar, Prabhas, and Kajal Aggarwal. Prabhu Deva is also choreographing a key song in the movie.
Earlier this year, Prabhu Deva introduced his son Rishii Ragvendar Deva to the public in a viral Instagram video. The heartwarming clip showed the father-son duo dancing on stage, captivating fans with their energy and rhythm.
Kannappa is one of the most anticipated mythological films of the year, blending devotion, storytelling, and star power in a grand cinematic spectacle.
