Prabhsimran smashed a blistering 91 runs off just 48 balls at a phenomenal strike rate of 189.58. His explosive innings featured seven sixes and six boundaries, setting the tone for PBKS’s dominant win. His efforts earned him the Player of the Match award.
“It is a very good knock, 2 points matter to us a lot, and happy that it came in a winning cause… it took a little time and then decided we needed to make 200. Whatever the situation demands, someone from our batting unit has been stepping up every game, and it’s good that we are winning too,” Prabhsimran said during the post-match presentation.
The victory keeps Punjab Kings in strong contention for the playoffs, placing them second on the points table with seven wins, three losses, and one no result — totaling 15 points. LSG, meanwhile, remains in seventh with five wins and six defeats.
LSG had won the toss and chose to bowl first, but PBKS made the most of the opportunity. A quick 14-ball 30-run cameo by Josh Inglis and a solid 78-run partnership between Prabhsimran and captain Shreyas Iyer (45 off 25 balls, five fours, and two sixes) helped Punjab build a strong foundation. Later, a 54-run stand with Shashank Singh (33* off 15 balls) propelled them to a formidable 236/5 in 20 overs.
LSG’s bowling was led by Akash Singh and Digvesh Rathi, who claimed two wickets each.

Chasing 237, LSG faltered early, slipping to 73/5. However, a fighting 81-run stand between Ayush Badoni (74 off 40 balls) and Abdul Samad (45 off 24) gave them some hope. Despite their efforts, LSG could only manage 199/7 by the end of the innings.
PBKS’s bowling attack was sharp and disciplined. Arshdeep Singh was outstanding with figures of 3/16 in four overs. Azmatullah Omarzai chipped in with 2/33, while Marco Jansen and Yuzvendra Chahal picked up a wicket each.
With the momentum on their side, PBKS will look to carry this form into the final leg of the tournament, while LSG faces a must-win situation in their remaining matches.
