The Raja Saab Producer Files Complaint In Hyderabad Over ‘Derogatory’ Remarks Against Film & Actors

The digital battle over Prabhas’ latest release, The Raja Saab, intensified on Friday, January 23, 2026, as creative producer Sreenivas Kumar Naidu (SKN) approached the Hyderabad Cyber Crime Police Station. The move follows two weeks of intense online trolling and the emergence of impersonator accounts targeting the film’s cast and crew.

The horror-comedy, which was released on January 9, 2026, has struggled to maintain its initial momentum, facing a sharp decline in collections and a wave of “cringe” labels from netizens.

Cyber Complaint: Impersonation & Malice

Producer SKN’s legal move targets specific social media handles—primarily on X (formerly Twitter)—that allegedly posed as him to spread misinformation.

  • The Allegation: SKN stated that fake profiles were used to post “derogatory and misleading remarks” about lead actors and director Maruthi.
  • Provoking Fan Wars: Some accounts reportedly claimed that the producer was privately criticizing fans while favoring the director, a move intended to fracture the film’s core support base.
  • Official Stance: In a press note, the team clarified: “Such malicious acts are intended to create confusion and spread negativity. Strict legal action will be taken against those involved.”

Box Office Check: A Drastic Crash

Despite a massive opening that saw the film cross the ₹100 crore gross mark worldwide on Day 1, The Raja Saab has faced a catastrophic second week.

MetricStatus (As of Jan 24, 2026)
Total India Net~₹143.03 Crore
Worldwide Gross~₹204 Crore
Day 15 Collection₹22 Lakh (Early Estimates)
Budget~₹400 Crore

The film has seen a 90% drop in its second week, with analysts citing poor word-of-mouth and stiff competition from the newly released Border 2 and the Chiranjeevi-starrer Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu.

‘Circus 1935’: The Dark Sequel Confirmed

In a surprise twist, the film’s end credits officially announced a sequel titled The Raja Saab 2: Circus 1935.

Director Maruthi has hinted that while the first part was a lavish horror-comedy, the sequel will move into a “darker, more unsettling” territory. A post-credit teaser showed a doppelgänger of Prabhas in a mystical 1930s circus setting, leading to speculation that the actor might play a double role in the next installment.
