Chail MLA Pooja Pal, who was kicked out of the Samajwadi Party (SP) not long ago, has sent a scathing letter to party leader Akhilesh Yadav, saying that her life is in danger and that he and the party will be to blame if she is killed.
Pooja Pal was kicked out of the party on August 14, just one day after she openly hailed Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for “delivering justice to women” after the death of gangster-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed. She is said to have also voted for BJP candidates in the 2024 Rajya Sabha elections, which added fuel to the political fire.
Pal wrote a letter in which she said she was terrified that she could be killed in public, just like her husband, former BSP MLA Raju Pal, who was shot to death in 2005 on the instructions of Atiq Ahmed. “You’ve embarrassed me and left me in the lurch.” This has given SP’s criminal-minded employees more confidence. “My husband was killed, and I may be too,” the letter said.
Pal’s letter says that the SP has “caste-based favoritism” and that the party didn’t help her in her lengthy fight for justice. She said she joined the SP because she thought it would help her fight big criminals, but in the end, she felt “sidelined, silenced, and disappointed.” She ended the letter with a message of defiance and triumph, saying, “I have achieved my goal; the people who killed my husband have been punished.” “I will die with pride, even if I die now.”
