On Sunday, Pooja shared a series of beautiful pictures on her Instagram account, showcasing her draped in the heritage saree paired with a matching blouse. She looked radiant in traditional attire, embodying grace and classic beauty.
In a heartfelt caption accompanying the post, Pooja wrote, “From the vintage closet, a 70-YEAR-OLD stunning saree… It took me back to the images of my beautiful Ajji (grandma) in her Kanjivarams going about her day, the fresh smell of mallige in the house before getting ready to go for a wedding, and the aromas of the wet Mangalore mud after the first rains… Oh, the beauty in the simplest things.”

On the professional front, Pooja Hegde is gearing up for her upcoming film Retro, where she stars alongside Suriya. The movie also features notable actors such as Jayaram, Joju George, Karunakaran, Nassar, and Prakash Raj, with Shriya Saran making a special cameo appearance.
The teaser for Retro, released on Christmas last year, gave audiences a glimpse of an emotional and action-packed narrative set against the backdrop of Varanasi. One touching scene captures Pooja’s character tying a sacred thread on Suriya’s wrist, symbolizing a vow to forsake violence and embrace love.
Directed by Karthik Subbaraj, Retro marks his first collaboration with Suriya and is scheduled to hit theatres on May 1 this year.
