New Delhi [India]: Union Minister Giriraj Singh criticized Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader and Bihar’s Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav following his remarks on BJP MLA Haribhushan Thakur Bachaul’s controversial statement regarding Muslims during Holi.
Singh accused Yadav of arrogance, attributing it to his political background.
“Tejashwi Yadav is arrogant because, for them, this is not democracy but monarchy. He didn’t come into politics by struggling. He is the son of Lalu Prasad Yadav, and this is reputation. Even Ravan’s arrogance was broken, who is Tejashwi and Lalu Yadav…” Singh told reporters.
Tejashwi Yadav Criticizes CM Nitish Kumar
Earlier, Tejashwi Yadav criticized Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for not taking action against BJP MLA Haribhushan Thakur Bachaul, who allegedly urged Muslims to “stay indoors” during Holi, which coincides with Friday prayers during Ramzan.
Yadav accused CM Nitish Kumar of being inactive and claimed the BJP holds significant influence over its alliance partner JDU.
“A BJP MLA said that Muslim brothers should not come out during Holi. Who is he to give such a statement? Where is the Chief Minister? When women raise issues on their rights and safety, the CM doesn’t hesitate to scold them. Does he have the courage to scold this BJP MLA?” Yadav questioned.
Bihar’s Spirit of Unity
Yadav stressed Bihar’s legacy of inclusiveness, affirming the state’s commitment to harmony.
“This country is a country that thinks about both Ram and Rahim. This is Bihar, where four Hindu brothers stand to protect one Muslim. Whether we gain power or not, we will continue to uphold the values of Lalu Yadav’s ideologies and the Constitution,” he said.

The controversy emerged after Haribhushan Thakur Bachaul, BJP MLA from the Bisfi Assembly constituency, reportedly suggested Muslims “stay indoors” on Holi, sparking political outrage.
