A high-speed car crash in Gujarat’s Bhavnagar city has left two people dead and two injured, after a 20-year-old man allegedly racing on a busy street lost control of his vehicle. The incident occurred in the Kaliyabeed area around 4 pm earlier this week, police confirmed on Saturday.
The accused, Harshraj Singh Gohil, was reportedly racing his friend when his white car, moving at a speed between 120–150 kmph, struck two pedestrians, killing them instantly. The car then skidded and crashed into a two-wheeler, injuring its two riders and damaging multiple vehicles nearby.
The pedestrians who lost their lives were identified as:
- Bhargav Bhatt, 30, a recently married man who was on his way to work.
- Champaben Vachani, 65.
Both victims were declared dead on the spot, while the injured were rushed to Sir T Hospital.

A purported video of the incident that surfaced online shows the vehicle barrelling through the street, kicking up a cloud of dust as it mows down pedestrians.
👮 Family Ties and Arrest:
Harshraj is the son of ASI Aniruddha Singh Vajubha Gohil of the Local Crime Branch. According to police sources, upon hearing of the incident, the officer rushed to the spot, slapped his son, and handed him over to the Nilambag police station.
Officials say that Harshraj had a history of reckless driving and often participated in street races with friends.

The disturbing nature of the crash, compounded by the viral video and the accused’s privileged background, has fueled public anger. Citizens and activists are now demanding:
