Bhuj (Gujarat) [India]: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in a sharp rebuke to Pakistan, accused it of treating terrorism as tourism, calling it a grave threat to the world. Addressing a public rally in Bhuj, Gujarat, the PM underscored India’s zero-tolerance policy against terrorism and defended Operation Sindoor as a mission to save humanity.
“India believes in tourism. Tourism brings people together. But a country like Pakistan thinks terrorism is tourism. This is a big threat for the world,” PM Modi said.
He further asserted that India had given Pakistan 15 days to act following the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, which killed 26 people, mostly tourists.
“We waited for 15 days to see if Pakistan would take any steps against terrorism, but probably, terrorism is their bread and butter. When they did nothing, I gave our armed forces a free hand,” he declared.
Operation Sindoor: India’s Message on Terror
Operation Sindoor, launched on May 7, was a decisive military operation targeting terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK). The strikes killed over 100 terrorists affiliated with groups such as Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba, and Hizbul Mujahideen.
India also successfully repelled subsequent Pakistani military aggression, including retaliatory strikes on airbases.
“Our policy against terrorism is that of zero tolerance. Operation Sindoor made our policy crystal clear. Whoever will make us bleed will see a similar response. At no cost will they be spared,” PM Modi affirmed.
Massive Infrastructure Push in Bhuj
Apart from national security, the Prime Minister’s visit also focused on infrastructure development. PM Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for multiple development projects worth over ₹53,400 crore in Bhuj, a border district in Gujarat.
These projects span power, renewable energy, port infrastructure, roads, water systems, and solar initiatives, with a special focus on the Khavda Renewable Energy Park and Kandla Port.
“Development projects of more than ₹50,000 crores have been inaugurated here today. There was a time when the whole of Gujarat would not see such a huge project announcement, and now a district will benefit from such a huge development work,” he noted.
He also highlighted that the initiatives will support India’s ambition to become a global leader in the blue economy and green energy.
Emotional Connect with Kutch
PM Modi emotionally recalled his long-standing connection with the Kutch region, referencing his tenure as Chief Minister of Gujarat and historic development milestones.
“My relationship with Kutchh has been an old one… People of Kutchh and their self-confidence have always guided me… When the water of Narmada reached Kutchh for the first time, that day was no less than Diwali for Kutchh, and it was an unprecedented celebration,” he said.
