PM Modi Shares Highlights From Jahan-E-Khusrau Programme

New Delhi [India]: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday shared highlights from the Jahan-e-Khusrau Sufi music festival, which he attended in New Delhi a day ago.

The grand Sufi music festival, celebrating its 25th anniversary, began on February 28 at Sunder Nursery and is set to conclude on March 2. Organized by the Rumi Foundation and founded by renowned filmmaker Muzaffar Ali in 2001, the festival brings together artists from around the world to honor the legendary Amir Khusrau.

PM Modi’s Address: Celebrating India’s Cultural Legacy

Speaking at the event, PM Modi highlighted the importance of cultural festivals in preserving India’s artistic heritage.

“Jahan-e-Khusrau’s journey is completing 25 years. Over these years, this festival has carved a place in people’s hearts, which is its greatest success,” he remarked.

He also spoke about the significance of Sufi culture in India:
“When Sufi culture came to India, it felt connected to its roots. There is a unique fragrance in this event of Jahan-e-Khusrau—the fragrance of Hindustan’s soil!”

Quoting Amir Khusrau, the Prime Minister praised his vision of India:
“Hazrat Amir Khusrau described India as greater than all the big countries of the world at that time…He called Sanskrit the best language in the world and regarded Indian scholars as the greatest.”

PM Modi Extends Ramzan Greetings, Acknowledges Aga Khan’s Contribution

As the festival coincides with the beginning of Ramzan, PM Modi extended greetings to the nation.

“I extend my greetings to the entire country as Ramzan is about to begin,” he said.

He also acknowledged the contributions of Aga Khan, particularly in the revitalization of Sunder Nursery:
“Since I am here at Sunder Nursery, it is important to remember Aga Khan. His contribution to beautifying this space has been a blessing for many artists.”

PM Modi Explores TEH Bazaar: Showcasing India’s Handmade Crafts

During the event, PM Modi visited the TEH Bazaar (The Exploration of the Handmade), which featured:

  • One District-One Product (ODOP) crafts
  • Exquisite artifacts from across India
  • Short films on handicrafts and handlooms

He also interacted with shopkeepers, emphasizing the importance of local artisans in India’s economy.
