PM Modi’s ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha 2025’ Gets New Format, Celebrity Participation

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s flagship interaction program, Pariksha Pe Charcha (PPC), will return this year with a fresh format and an expanded lineup of notable personalities to engage with students preparing for board examinations.

Among the prominent figures participating in PPC 2025 are actress Deepika Padukone, Olympic boxer Mary Kom, Paralympic gold medalist Avani Lekhara, nutritionist Rujuta Diwekar, educator Sonali Sabharwal, content creator FoodPharmer, actor Vikrant Massey, actress Bhumi Pednekar, YouTuber Technical Guruji, and investor Radhika Gupta. These personalities will play a role in motivating and empowering students.

The interactive event, organized annually by the Department of School Education and Literacy, will take place at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi in a town-hall format.

Since its launch in 2018, Pariksha Pe Charcha has grown into a massive nationwide movement. The 8th edition in 2025 has already witnessed a record 3.56 crore registrations—an increase of 1.3 crore compared to the 7th edition, which had 2.26 crore registrations. This surge highlights the growing significance of the initiative in addressing exam-related stress and promoting a positive learning environment.

PPC has transformed into a “Jan Andolan” (people’s movement), deeply resonating with students, parents, and teachers across India. The program’s core message encourages students to embrace exams as a celebration—“Utsav”—rather than a source of stress.

To further reinforce this movement, a series of activities were conducted from January 12 (National Youth Day) to January 25 (Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Jayanti) at the school level across various States and Union Territories. These activities aimed to promote student engagement and stress relief, attracting participation from 1.42 crore students, 12.81 lakh teachers, and 2.94 lakh schools.

Students actively took part in diverse activities such as traditional Indian games like Kho-Kho and Kabaddi, short-distance marathons, creative meme competitions, Nukkad Natak performances, poster-making contests, and testimonial-sharing sessions. Yoga and meditation were also integrated to help students develop mindfulness and focus. Additionally, schools hosted workshops and invited experts to share insights on stress management and holistic education.

Since its inception, Pariksha Pe Charcha has been a platform for PM Modi to directly interact with students, parents, and teachers, offering guidance on managing exam stress effectively.

The first three editions of PPC were held in New Delhi in a town-hall format. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the fourth edition was conducted virtually and broadcast on Doordarshan and other TV channels. The event returned to an in-person town-hall format for its 5th, 6th, and 7th editions at Talkatora Stadium, New Delhi.

The 2025 edition, with its enhanced structure and broader participation, aims to continue empowering students, making exams a stress-free and enjoyable experience.
