New Delhi [India]: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday strongly condemned the terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which targeted innocent tourists in the Anantnag district. Expressing deep sorrow for the victims, PM Modi asserted that those responsible for the “heinous act” will be brought to justice.

Wider Political Condemnation and Security Response
Leaders across the political spectrum condemned the assault, labelling it an attack on peace and Kashmir’s tourism industry, which has been seeing signs of recovery.
Following the attack:
- Security forces and local police rushed to the site.
- Ambulances and emergency teams were deployed.
- The area was cordoned off, and a massive search operation is underway.
The Attack
The terror strike targeted a group of tourists in the Pahalgam area earlier in the day, adding to a growing list of recent security concerns in the region. As of now, details about the number of casualties and the identity of the attackers have not been publicly confirmed.
This tragic incident comes at a time when efforts are being made to revive tourism and bring long-term stability to the region. The government’s zero-tolerance stance on terrorism and swift security response are aimed at containing any further escalation.
