PM Modi To Visit Prayagraj To Review Mahakumbh Mela 2025 Preparations

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, on December 13 to oversee preparations for the upcoming Mahakumbh Mela 2025. During his visit, he will inaugurate and launch several development projects worth over ₹6,670 crore.

Schedule Highlights

According to an official release, PM Modi’s itinerary is as follows:

  • 12:15 PM: Perform puja and darshan at Sangam Nose.
  • 12:40 PM: Conduct puja at Akshay Vata Vriksh, and visit Hanuman Mandir and Saraswati Koop.
  • 1:30 PM: Tour the Mahakumbh exhibition site.
  • 2:00 PM: Launch and inaugurate development projects.

Key Development Projects

PM Modi will unveil various projects aimed at transforming Prayagraj into a hub for seamless connectivity, infrastructure, and spiritual tourism. Highlights include:

  1. Infrastructure Improvements:
    • Construction of 10 new Road Over Bridges (RoBs) and flyovers.
    • Development of permanent ghats and riverfront roads.
  2. Clean Ganga Initiatives:
    • Projects to intercept, tap, divert, and treat minor drains flowing into the Ganga River to ensure zero discharge of untreated water.
  3. Utility Enhancements:
    • Infrastructure projects focused on drinking water and electricity.
  4. Temple Corridor Projects:
    • Inauguration of Bharadwaj Ashram Corridor, Shringverpur Dham Corridor, Akshayvat Corridor, and Hanuman Mandir Corridor to improve accessibility for devotees and boost spiritual tourism.
  5. Technology Integration for Mahakumbh 2025:
    • Launch of the Kumbh Sah’AI’yak chatbot, designed to provide guidance, updates, and event information for devotees attending the Mahakumbh.
